STYLE

Framed within contemporary realism, Badilla's winning work presents a girl painting sitting in an excruciator's room in a gray atmosphere.

"It is an invitation to look at the world with the eyes of joy, creativity and without prejudices" says Badilla, "something very necessary in the national contingency that we are living in Chile at this time". The title of the painting is a wink to the artist Miguel Angel Mayo, known as "Golucho", a world reference of the contemporary realism with which Badilla could be formed in Barcelona (Spain) recently. "I could say that with Golucho I went from painting in color to painting in color" says Badilla, "the mastery I have gained over color explains in large part the new recognition I have obtained".
