Prize. Francisco Badilla promotes his art abroad.

"Between the sky and the earth"

The local artist Francisco Badilla Briones recently won one of the 5 prizes in the Arte Solta competition in Portugal, in which 235 artists of 17 different nationalities participated. The outstanding painter is a native of Temuco but thanks to a Conycit scholarship, he is now a student of the Master of Fine Arts at the University of Porto, Portugal, one of the best art schools in the world.

Badilla, who is also an academic at the Catholic University of Temuco and the Armando Dufey School of Art, presented his painting "Entre el cielo y la tierra" (oil on canvas) to the Arte Solta competition. The work narrates the vigilance to which we human beings are subjected in the present day, and also to a divine gaze that watches over us, letting us build our own decisions.

EXHIBITIONS

"Between the sky and the earth" was until yesterday in Espaço Quadras Soltas, an important gallery in Porto. In addition, his works will also be exhibited in May in the gallery "Are days" in the same Portuguese city, and he has been invited to exhibit in the city of Guimaräes.

The artist is in a good moment to become one of the important painters of realism.
